Addicted individuals who give their lives to drug and alcohol have a misguided vision of their existence both on a personal and social level. They exist in an invisible balloon that takes them to the same place every day of their lives and they feel that they have absolutely no hope in being released from that invisible balloon except through a drug and alcohol treatment program.

People who decide to take drugs on a regular basis and drink alcohol every day are destroying their lives literally. Even the fact that drugs are illegal and can get one into the prison system should be enough reason to refrain from doing it. However they do not think about jail when drugs take up their lives. Prison or jail is the last thing that is on their minds. The alcoholic does not think about the prospect of DUI when they are drinking from the bottle.

Their addiction is more to them than any drug and alcohol treatment program. Addiction to the addict is like a medicine. It captivates their very life and makes it easier for them to function in their world. However long term use can damage the health mind and spirituality.

This is why treatment is so vital. There are some minor differences between treatment centers but the standard detox physical counseling and therapy is usually what most of them offer. However a Christian or faith based treatment program incorporates the need for spiritual awareness in their program. In fact the Word of God is their solid foundation that helps addicts to learn about the reason why they were created and to let them see that they are needed in society to make their own mark as a purpose ordained by God who created them.

Drugs and alcohol are not a prerequisite to what God has planned for but it is a distraction from the enemy. Addicts are in denial and unwillingly to give up the easy way out rather than take the path that was created for them. Some are just ignorant and oblivious about the truth and so a faith based treatment program reveals everything to the addict.

Instead of taking the high road the addict will view life in a different light when completing the faith based treatment program. They will be able to identify the hope that is in Christ Jesus and see where and why they fit into his master plan for their lives.

An addict does not feel as if there is no hope for them. Their life is limited because it is captivated with an idea of what is good to take away the pain. They feel as if there is no reason to preserve their lives. They end up using more drugs and drinking more alcohol. Some are so far gone that even their health is deteriorating slowly and they allow it to happen because of not caring enough.

A drug and alcohol treatment center that is different is sometimes the best because it offers additional resources that cannot be received anywhere else.
